Ask the Pediatrician: Jan/Feb 2021
It’s that time of year. Even though you are doing everything
right—flu vaccines, hand washing, disinfecting, wearing
masks, and keeping a safe distance from others—illnesses may
sneak into your home. Should you test for COVID? Call your
pediatrician? How long should you keep away from others?
Fever
Babies under 3 months with a fever must see their pediatrician
right away. If an older child has a temp of 100.4 or higher,
they must stay home. Before COVID, older kids could often be
watched at home as long as drinking, eating, breathing, and
acting ok. With the pandemic, most schools will want you to test
since fever is a COVID symptom.

Virtual Learning
Many of our students’ first days back to
school looked very different than years
past. But 2020 has shown us just how
adaptable we can be. This is evident in
how we’ve made the best of navigating
new virtual learning routines, creating
successful at-home learning environments
for our children.
