Understanding Heart Rhythms Seminar
West Hills Hospital & Medical Center hosted a free community seminar on May 4 at Corporate Pointe in West Hills. The seminar was presented by James Ong, MD, a leading clinical cardiac electrophysiology doctor practicing at West Hills Hospital & Medical Center. Dr. Ong received his medical degree from University of California San Diego School of Medicine and is Board certified in Cardiology, Cardiovascular Disease, Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology, and Internal Medicine. This informal discussion focused on understanding heart rhythms and the management of arrhythmias, or irregular heartbeat. These electrical problems of the heart are distinguished from those involving the arteries and muscles of the heart. This disorder may result in symptoms of palpitation, fatigue, dizziness, fainting, racing heartbeat, and even sudden cardiac arrest. West Hills Hospital & Medical Center, a full-service acute care facility, has served the West San Fernando Valley for more than 50 years.
