Relay for Life Calabasas-Woodland Hills

On Saturday, May 19, Relay for Life of Calabasas and Woodland Hills returned to AE Wright Middle School to host their annual fundraiser. Featuring fun activities, entertainment, performances, and tons of games, the signature event for the American Cancer Society included teams, sponsors, families, businesses, sports groups, schools, and more participating to take action and make a global impact on cancer.

Some of the fun included performances by the Calabasas High School drumline and the Jailbreak Blues Band, sunset yoga, a water balloon toss, a potato sack race, and movies.

While staffed and coordinated by volunteers in more than 5,300 communities and  20 countries, participants in the Relay for Life events are part of an organization of over 2.5 million survivors, patients, advocates, volunteers, caregivers, and researchers doing everything within their power to save lives.

The top teams included Wellness Oncology & Hematology and B’Cause We Care 2. Top participants included Omid Shaye, Mike North, and Marcey Verity. In total, the Calabasas–Woodland Hills community raised over $120,000.
