Boys & Girls Club Stand up for Kids Gala

The Boys & Girls Club of Greater Conejo Valley (BGCGCV) held its major annual fundraiser, the Stand Up for Kids Gala Dinner and Auction themed “BELIEVE,” on September 14 at the Four Seasons Hotel in Westlake Village. It was emceed by Jim Cathcart. Founder and longtime leader Cal Johnston and wife, Marie, were honored with an emotional tribute by their son, BGCGCV Board Chair Jeff Johnston, for the dedication and active participation in the club since its inception in 2001.

The Cal Johnston Award was presented to Amer Soudani, a member of the club’s Board of Governors for the past 10 years, instrumental in the opening of the Rocky and Lon Morton Club in Newbury Park. The annual dinner and auction raised funds to support the provision of quality before- and after-school programs, sports leagues, and summer camps for over 4,000 youth.
