Kingsmen Shakespeare Company Benefit Dinner
The Kingsmen Shakespeare Company (KSC) Benefit Dinner, “Moroccan Nights,” was held June 10 on the California Lutheran University campus in Thousand Oaks. The annual event is a preview of the upcoming festival, which runs for six weekends starting June 29.
The event began with a reception, tarot card readings, hosted bar, and fundraising activities. At the dinner, the KSC’s Sixth Annual Lord Strange Award was presented to Carol Gilbert for her generous support of and passion for the festival. After dinner, a troupe of veteran Shakespearean actors performed scenes featuring strong women roles from the Bard’s play. Elizabeth Swain, the director of this summer’s production of “The Two Noble Kingsmen” and Ryan Lee of “Othello,” discussed their visions for the show. A live auction featured walk-on roles in the two plays among many other items. All guests were gifted with a bottle of wine.
