Friends of Sheba Inaugural Women’s Community Luncheon

Tuesday, August 28, marked a great success for Sheba Medical Center as they held their inaugural Women’s Community Luncheon. The event celebrated powerful women from Israel and the San Fernando Valley who are working to enhance the future of medicine through their support of Sheba Medical Center, the largest hospital in the entire Middle East.

The luncheon featured keynote speaker Dr. Yalon-Oren, head of the Pediatric Neuro-Oncology Department at Sheba Medical Center. Dr. Yalon-Oren aims to improve the prognosis of children with brain tumors through individualized therapy. Over 180 attendees who were inspired by Dr. Yalon-Oren’s innovative work were moved to donate more than $60,000.

In addition to Dr. Yalon-Oren’s presentation, guests were entertained by the event’s emcee, Brittney Hopper. The hosting committee chose Dr. Tanya Altmann as the event honoree for her incredible work as a pediatrician and best-selling author.
