Calabasas Senior Center Celebrates One-Year Birthday

On Saturday, June 24, the Calabasas Senior Center celebrated its first birthday. Its successful inaugural year included programming with more than 170 classes, lectures, and excursions and more than a dozen special interest clubs. A sold-out presentation by NBC- TV weathercaster and comedian Fritz Coleman was followed by a special celebration, including a birthday cake, refreshments, tours, and entertainment. Guests were invited to gather in front of the Calabasas Senior Center as the mayor and city council cut the birthday cake. The Calabasas Senior Center provides a gathering place for senior men and women, 50 years and older, where they can enjoy activities that contribute to continued learning and enrichment, socialization with other seniors, gain valuable information, and participation in recreational programs that contribute to healthy lifestyles.
