“An Evening of Compassion” Animal Hope and Wellness

Mark and Alison Kanter hosted an intimate private event filled with friends and family for Animal Hope and Wellness at the El Caballero Country Club on March 8 to bring awareness and raise funds for dogs in China and Cambodia being sent to slaughterhouses, tortured, and ultimately killed to use for food. Marc Ching, the founder of Animal Hope and Wellness, a shelter in Sherman Oaks that houses dogs rescued from the Chinese meat trade for adoption, is determined to bring an end to this horrendous situation and has rescued thousands of dogs so far.

Guests enjoyed appetizers and cocktails as they laughed and cried while listening to Ching’s inspirational speech. Mark introduced two dog meat trade survivors, Happy and Spirit, who won the hearts of every attendee.
