AHA Go RED for Women Luncheon

On Friday, February 16, members of the Ventura and Los Angeles counties joined together to raise awareness for women’s heart health. The co-chairs of this year’s luncheon were Bernadette Straatsma of Engel & Volkers and Dr. Gregory Fontana of Los Robles Hospital and Medical Center.

The morning began with a Circle of Red photo shoot followed by registration, a Heart Expo, and the opening of an auction. Dr. Fontana and Dr. Vishva Dev spoke on “Rebuilding the Heart through Keyholes and Pinholes” and UCLA Health cardiologists shared even more insightful information on preventing heart disease. Antonio Sabato, Jr. was in attendance, lending his support.

Once the ballroom doors opened, lunch was served and Mariel Hemingway, Academy Award-nominated actress, author, and keynote speaker, took the stage to speak about women’s heart health. A musical performance from Denise Donatelli was enjoyed by all. To close out the day, Passion Speakers Bruce and Gena Quarantello spoke to the guests.
