Local Favorite Set to Shine at Sagebrush Cantina Festival

Acclaimed Americana singer Alisan Porter, known for her standout performances in both music and theater, is set to perform at the Sagebrush Cantina Music, Food, and Fun! Festival on October 19. Porter gained fame as a child star (you may remember her from the movie Curly Sue) and later rose to prominence with her powerful singing voice, winning the 10th season of the hit TV show The Voice. 

“My first love was always music and singing,” the dynamic entertainer said of transitioning to singing and songwriting as her main focus. Porter’s soulful melodies and heartfelt lyrics are sure to captivate audiences at the highly anticipated 3rd annual Sagebrush Cantina festival, renowned for its vibrant atmosphere and lineup, this year featuring the Gin Blossoms. Attendees can look forward to not only Porter’s energetic performance showcasing her amazing vocal range but also a fun variety of food and amusing entertainment activities. 

The charismatic singer/songwriter will be performing original material from her newly released EP, The Ride, but guests can expect some Alisan classics, which are sure to include popular covers that captivated the judges and audience on The Voice and which showcase her incredible range, dynamic energy, and soulful delivery. As a resident of the area, the acclaimed artist who tours all over the country says that she’s thrilled to be performing in practically her own backyard. “I literally couldn’t be more excited,” comments the mother of three. “I love our little area of the world, and I’m really excited to just be close to home, get ready at my house, have the band over, and be able to drive to the venue and drive home. There’s nothing like that. It’s awesome. I’m excited to entertain the people of Calabasas and my area and see familiar faces.”

This is a chance for local Porter fans to hear her incredible voice before she goes on tour next year promoting The Ride. “It’s really exciting to be part of the festival,” says Porter.
